Felix Lartey produced a spectacular show on Saturday at the Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium as he muscled off Bernard Joe Sam after a battling three-set victory to lift the 2015 Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) Top 8 tournament men’s trophy.
Lartey, ranked in the top 16 in Africa had to dig very deep to squeeze the juice out of Joe Sam who had beaten him in the group stage.
Both players qualified from Group A where Bernard Joe Sam won all three games to top with 6 points whilst Felix Lartey came second with 5 points.
Derek Abrefa came third in the men’s category after beating the southpaw Emmanuel Commey.
In the women’s division, Beatrice Gyasi had to combine skill and experience to beat Bernice Borquaye to lift the trophy.
