Kotoko: We did not register Ahmed Toure because he is nowhere to be found
LISTEN JAN 22, 2016

Asante Kotoko have explained why strike Ahmed Toure was not registered for the 2015/16 Ghana Premier league season.

According to the Accra representative officer, Edmund Ackah the Ivorian was not registered because management could not establish his whereabouts.

“Along the line he was away for national assignment, which was understandable. We didn’t hear from him again even after we formally wrote to him demanding answers to his unexplained absence” Ackah told

“Toure neither reported for training nor did he respond to our letter. With the technical team proceeding with their work, we concluded that adding him to our registration list wasn’t going to serve the club’s interest”

Kotoko duly registered 29 players – 14 being new players with the same number of players retained from last season and one, Felix Annan back from a loan stint.

The Ghana Football Association closed its online player registration on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
