GFA Cautioned

12.11.2004 LISTEN
By Kwabena Kyere Stugard, SPACE FM, Sunyani.

A firebrand Football administrator and a member of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kofi Manu, popularly known as 'Wonderful Blueboy' has warned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to conduct due diligence on the background of the coach to be contracted for the Black Stars job.

According to Kofi Manu, this would help to reverse the past situation where coaches would abandon their posts when Ghana need them most. He also advised the management of the F.A. to exercise great circumspection before signing a contract with the coach for Ghana.

Talking to SPACE FM, he was highly evasive about the way and manner Milan Zivadinovic and Mariano Barreto left their posts, adding that such characters should not be entertained in Ghana football.

Meanwhile another source from the corridors of GHALCA who pleaded for anonymity was not happy about the delay of Phillipe Troussier to meet the F.A. He said if indeed Troussier is waiting for his fate to be determined in Wales before coming down, then the F.A. should be cautious. Wales is expected to name either Troussier or John Toshack as the manager of the national team today. We should not be interested in CVs of Coaches but their commitment, as well, the source told Space Fm.
