Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew has lauded the work ethic of new manager Remi Garde and believes it will not be long before results improve.

Garde signed a three-and-a-half-year deal to replace Tim Sherwood but he has so far been unable to lift the club off the bottom of the table.

Villa have lost three and drawn two of their five matches under Garde.

But Ayew, who has started each of Villa's last first five games, claims the former Lyon coach can still turn things around.

"He is perfect, magnificent. I'm very happy. He has settled in very, very well and his communication is perfect - he speaks English," the Ghana international told AVTV.

"I'm very pleased and I think everyone is happy to have him in the job."

Aston Villa face a difficult trip to Newcastle this Sunday in the English Premier League.
