When Joseph 'King Kong' Agbeko and Sumaila 'Wounded Lion' Badu square off for the Commonwealth bantamweight crown in Accra on Friday, October 29, just one thing remains certain.

That night will add to Ghana's stock of champions under the various boxing bodies.

But although fighting under the same flag, both boxers have been soaked in a sober reflection of what the night holds in store for either of them.One-time national champion, African champion and title holder under the defunct WBF, Agbeko has lived by his nickname, conquering all that crossed his path until he lost a bid for the WBA crown against Vladimir Sidonrenko last May.

In the process, established talents like 'Bomber' Mike Kizza of Uganda and Malik Jabir have epitomised the quality of opposition from the international crop and local breed that have tested the sharp reflexes and punching skill of the classy boxer. In Badu, however, he will find a boxer whose technique hinges on brawn rather than Agbeko's extreme reliance on brainy tactics.

The Wounded Lion, in spite of his status as the WBO African champion, remains his own self following a loss to Malik who lasted just a round before the King Kong. For Badu, the fight, a maiden promotion of Obric Sala Promotions, provides a chance to redeem an image that has stayed deep in the shadows of his contemporaries.

As a prelude to the 50th anniversary conference of the Commonwealth Boxing Council, 'Bukom Banku', Braimah Kamoko, and Ghana-based Nigerian fighter, Michael 'White Pepper' Gbenga, will clash in the major undercard in a final eliminator for the ABU light heavyweight title.

'Bukom Tsatsu' Joshua Okine fights Dela Adeleke in a warm up towards a shot at the Commonwealth crown against Nigeria's Aziz Onikeke, while Osumanu Adama moves up to challenge Okedara Mojeed of Nigeria for the ABU middleweight belt.
