Olivier Giroud came off the bench to give Arsenal a much-needed 2-0 victory over powerful Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Arsenal went into the match without a single point from their two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos, but they handed the German side their first setback since Aug. 1.

Manuel Neuer made a spectacular save on Theo Walcott's free header from six yards in the 34th minute.

But in the second half Arsenal produced a goal out of nothing as Giroud -- who had recently come on for Walcott -- bundled the ball over the line on 77 minutes after Neuer failed to deal with a Santi Cazorla free kick.

The Gunners found a second with the last kick of the game when Hector Bellerin set up Ozil, who managed to get the ball over the line despite the best efforts of Neuer.

In the other game in Group F, Brown Ideye scored the only goal for Olympiakos in the 79th minute as the Greek champions won 1-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb.

Eden Hazard and Willian hit the woodwork in an improved display, but there was to be no breakthrough as Mourinho's men stayed third in Group G.

Vincent Aboubakar and Yacine Brahimi scored three minutes apart in the first half to give Porto a two-point cushion over Dynamo Kiev and three clear of Chelsea.

With the injured Lionel Messi still sidelined, substitute Ivan Rakitic stepped up to guide Barcelona to a 2-0 win at BATE Borisov in Group E.

Rakitic, who came on for Sergi Roberto in the 18th minute, had Barcelona's best chance to score in the first half but his unmarked header from 12 yards sailed over the bar.

But the Croatian didn't miss his opportunity three minutes after half-time when he coolly fired home a 20-yard strike from the top of the box.

He found his second goal of the game in the 65th minute by receiving a Neymar pass in the box and chipping the goalkeeper.

Leverkusen's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez opened the scoring with a fifth-minute penalty after Vasilis Tortosidis was whistled for handling Hakan Calhanoglu's cross. Hernandez scored his second 15 minutes later after playing a 1-2 with Calhanoglu. The Mexican's first shot was saved by Wojciech Szczesny but the follow-up doubled Leverkusen's advantage.

Roma got one back in the 30th minute when Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno could only half-clear a corner, and the ball eventually fell to Daniele De Rossi to score. The Italian side equalised eight minutes later when De Rossi redirected a freek kick by Pjanic, and the Bosnian curled in the winner with a long free kick early in the second half.

Gervinho then found Iago Falque in the box to widen Roma's lead in the 73rd minute, but Leverkusen were not finished as Kevin Kampl scored in the 84th minute and Admir Mehmedi completed the comeback two minutes later.

Artem Dzyuba provided Zenit a lead inside three minutes, but Alexandre Lacazette equalised for the French side shortly after the break.

But Hulk put the hosts back in front eight minutes later with a blast from 30 yards, and Danny added a third goal seven minutes from time.

Valenica used a Stefan Mitrovic own goal to squeeze out a 2-1 win at home against Belgian champions Gent.

Sofiane Feghouli and Thomas Foket exchanged first-half goals, but Valencia took the lead again in the 72nd minute when a lobbed cross hit off the top of the crossbar, and fell to Jose Luis Gaya, whose shot deflected off Mitrovic and into the net.
