Sekondi, Oct. 18, GNA - The Western Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) on Monday donated a cheque of 20 million cedis to Sekondi Hasaacas Sporting Club at Sekondi.
Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Regional Minister said the donation is meant to alleviate the team's the acute financial crisis and to support them to perform well in their league matches it finds itself in.
She said Hasaacas, which is the only team in the region participating in the Premier league needs the necessary support to enable it maintain its premiership status and to continue to bring some form of entertainment and leisure to the people of the Region. Mr. Joseph B. Aidoo, the Regional Minister also presented two million cedis to the club to motivate and support them in league competition.
Receiving the cheque and cash, Alhaji Fuseini Mahama, Technical Director of Hasaacas said the donation, which is the first of its kind would go a long way to improve the fortunes of the club.
