I Was Cheered, Not Attacked — Nyaho

By Graphic

GFA capo, Nyaho-Tamakloe, has described as incorrect reports that he was nearly attacked by fans in Kumasi after the Black Stars' barren draw in their World Cup group qualifying tie with DR Congo last Sunday.

Expressing surprise at the report carried by Graphic last Tuesday, the GFA boss denied any such incident and claimed the fans rather warmed up towards him. He told the Graphic Sports: “Incidentally, they rather cheered as they saw me come out from the stadium towards my car amidst calls — champion chairman, chairman woye bue, and the like”.

Dr Nyaho Tamakloe contended that if the fans were that angry at him as captured by the Graphic Sports, his car definitely would have been dented. 'But I tell you nobody touched me nor the car as I entered and drove off”.

The GFA boss, however, took some consolation in the fact that the reported attempted attack on him was a further shot in the arm for his current running battle with the powers that be for empowerment to reform Ghana football.

“This is exactly the point. When things don't go too well, then the FA Chairman must carry the can, be the target of attack”, he stressed.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, however, expressed the hope that all goes well for Ghana Football and for the Black Stars, especially, to peak for the rest of the qualifying series by March next year.
