Mensah Amartey Supports Beach Soccer

Gilbert Mensah Amartey is the latest crusader for Beach Soccer in the country, promising to uplift the sport to an appreciable standard.

Putting his words into action, he donated an undisclosed amount to the Teshie beach soccer team at the beach soccer arena at Labadi in Accra.

 “I have great interest in sports, especially football; but I have recently developed the passion for beach soccer and would do everything possible to ensure its growth in the country.

'Plans are far advanced to also present footballs, sets of jerseys and other logistics on my next visit,” he stated.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Primaries contestant, in a post-presentation interview, said his venture into sports was one of the ways to improve on the living conditions of the people of Teshie.

He promised going the extra mile for the sport saying, “I will get support from charitable organizations by way of sponsorship before I adopt the team in future.'

Mensah Amartey urged the players to make commitment a priority, as it would guarantee success in future, and appealed to stakeholders to support the sport due to its huge potential to put the country on the international map.

He added: “Witnessing the game for the first time, I have realised there are amazing talents that could compete with the rest of the world with the necessary support.'
