The championship, which is being organized by the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is to serve as a platform to reunite all old players of the sport and find a way of tapping their vast experience for the promotion and development of the sport in the country.

Over 30 veteran players including personalities likes Fred Aboagye, James Brown, Ebo Bartels, Chairman of the GTTA, Kwabena Yeboah and other veterans of the sport are expected to participate in the one-day event.

He said the amount would go into the purchase of equipment such as tennis nets and balls as well as provide refreshment for the competition.

According to Mr Oteng-Aboagye, the tournament would be organised along side an Under-12 competition to unearth more youthful talents. Mr Oteng-Aboagye said that cash prizes would also be given to outstanding players in the Under-12 category.
