League Report Warning signal: Ghana football will be ungovernable should we lose the protest to Hearts - Kotoko PRO
SEP 1, 2015 LISTEN

Communication Director of Asante Kotoko, Kwaku Ahenkorah has threatened that the Kumasi based club will make Ghana Football Association ungovernable should Hearts of Oak win the protest against them.

Hearts of Oak filed a protest against Kotoko, challenging the eligibility of Obed Owusu claiming, he had accumulated four yellow cards making him unqualified to have featured for Kotoko when the two teams met at the Accra sports stadium on match day 25 which ended 2-1 in favour of the Porcupine Warriors.

But according to Kotoko's response to that claims, the Kumasi based club said Obed Owusu was eligible to feature in that game because he served the much needed suspension in their Elite Cup game against Dunkwa Utd but the Phobians also hold the view that the Elite Cup is not a recognized competition which Kotoko disagrees.

Now the bone of contention is whether in the regulations of the Ghana Football Association the Elite cup is a recognized competition or not.

And ahead of Tuesday's[1st September, 2015] ruling of the case, the Communication Director of Asante Kotoko Kwaku Ahenkorah has threatened that Ghana football will be ungovernable should they lose that said protest case to Hearts of Oak adding that they will accept the verdict if the rules is applied.

'I want to serve this warning. If the ruling comes and we get the slightest hint that something went amiss, we will make Ghana football ungovernable,' he told Nhyira FM.

'Kotoko is prepared to receive the verdict once we realize all the rules, laws and precedents were followed.

'But we sense that the system is gradually going against us with Medeama's FA Cup game another example.

'So I will declare that if the ruling comes and we have the slightest hint of something inconvenient, we will make Ghana football ungovernable.

'We know things are happening with referee tampering and all but we remain calm for now.

'However people should be aware this is a big club and cannot be treated in this manner. Otherwise in some time to come, we will show our might in Ghana football.'

If Kotoko should lose the case six points will be taken from their accumulated points which three points will be given to Hearts of Oak.
