Accra, Sept 27, GNA - Doctor Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sent a message of condolence to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following the death of Mr Mawade Wade, a long standing executive member of the Federation.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the nation was saddened by the death of Mr Wade whom he described as "A dedicated servant of African football who virtually dedicated his adult life to the growth and development of the continent's game".

The Chairman in a release copied to the GNA Sports said the late Senegalese hero who is credited for waging a relentless war on foreign detractors and their local collaborators who placed their selfish interest above the common African game would forever be remembered. He said the continent has been denied another true patriot in the wake of the death of Nigeria's Mr Patrick Okpomo, who passed away a few weeks ago.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe called on genuinely concerned lovers of the continent's game to continue the fight by staying inspired by the good deeds of the two geniuses in their quest to develop the African game. Mr Wade was an executive member of CAF until his death.
