A contingent of 44 players, officials and pressmen of Angolan clubside, Petro Athletico are due to arrive in the country on Thursday afternoon ahead of their crucial Caf Confederation Cup match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The team will leave Luanda,Angola by 10.00am local time and are expected to fly directly to Kumasi the same day, arriving at about 2.30p.m.

Petro Athletico, who are lying fourth in the Angolan local league {Girabola) are bent on pulling a surprise one on the Porcupine Warriors who have never tasted any defeat on the international scene at their favourite Kumasi Sports Stadium in recent times. It will be recalled that Asante Kotoko beat Enugu Rangers of Nigeria 3-1 at the same venue in their opening group A match a couple of weeks ago, and after suffering a 2-0 defeat away to Al-Hilal of Sudan, they will have to go the extra mile to atone for that defeat by ensuring an emphatic win in Saturday's clash, thus pushing them ahead in their group towards qualifying for the finals of this year's annual inaugural CAF Confederation Cup.

According to a close source, the officials for the match: Sow Modu, Malamine Camara and Sabufara Sering who are from Gambia will arrive in Ghana on Thursday via Air Ivoire by 7.55p.m., and will be flown to Kumasi the next day.

The last time Petro Athletico came to Ghana was about 10 years ago, precisely in 1994 when Accra Hearts Of Oak beat them 4-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium, and the last time Asante Kotoko played an Angolan side was in 2001 against Sonangol of Namibie, Angola which Kotoko won by 2- 0 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
