Accra, Aug. 31, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak after crumbling to less fancied Tema-based Real Sportive in the novelty Homowo Cup last Saturday, will seek to make amends when they come up against Africa Sports of Cote d'Ivoire in an international friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, September 1.
The match is a multi purpose one for the Accra team, who had for the past weeks provided their fans with some unpleasant and disappointing results.
Having disappointed their fans for some time in recent matches, the Phobians will be out to rekindle the hopes of their followers who of late seem to have lost hope in the team coming out victorious.
It will also serve as an opportunity to avenge a 2-1 defeat suffered at the hands of the visitors in a similar match three months ago.
With a continental assignment at hand against Cotton Sport in Cameroon on September 12, there is no doubt that the Phobians would use the match to sharpen their rough edges in preparations for the match.
The Ivorians on the other hand, will be coming into the match with much fireworks following their lone goal loss to Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi sports Stadium last Monday.
This time round the forces of nature seem to be working against the visitors since their last trip to Ghana saw them beating both Hearts and Kotoko in friendly encounters, but their loss to Kotoko last Monday, is an indication of a possible defeat for them in Accra should Hearts get their acts together.
