Accra, August 27, GNA - Kwasi Bonsu's first half goal secured Accra Great Olympics a final berth in the novel Homowo Cup competition in their match against Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

The 40th minute goal cleverly flicked from the head of Bonsu from an acute set-up by Mohammed Tanko who raced past his marker from the left flank after profiting from a through pass from the middle. Both teams sold out a boring game, but it was the "Wonder Club", playing under the instructions of newly signed on coach, Dawuda Lutterodt who had the best of the exchanges.

The Dansoman boys, playing like an ordinary side conceded the midfield battle to Olympics' Joseph Tagoe, who displayed impressive passing and crowned the day to be adjudged the "Most Valuable Player" of the match.

Liberty resumed the second half a better side fighting to pull even, but Oly's goalkeeper Theophilous Mensah exhibited a high level of alertness when he twice denied the Liberty lads the desired results. Olympics have thus qualified to meet the winner of the Accra Hearts of Oak and Real Sportive's match on Saturday in the final game on Sunday.
