Cape Coast, August 25, GNA- The Central Regional branch of the Referees Association of Ghana on Tuesday threatened to boycott the handling of matches of the forthcoming Division Two League, for their alleged manhandling by the clubs. The league involves Tuba Metro Stars, Agona Swedru Fankobaa and Cape Coast ASAMERIK.

The referees who issued the threat in a resolution to the Regional Football Association on Tuesday signed by their secretary, Mr Joshua Mensah claimed that during the 2003 league season, the three clubs manhandled and assaulted some of their colleagues who handled their matches. They said in view of the past experience they are asking the regional football body to ensure that adequate security measures are put in place at all league centres and that all outstanding bills in respect of fees and compensation owed them should be paid before the commencement of the 2004-2005 league season.
