Accra, Aug. 24, GNA - The first Coconut Groove Beach Resort Open Golf Championship tees off at the Beach Resort Golf Course at Elmina in the Central Region on Saturday, September 11 and ends on Sunday, September 12.
Mr Ralph Ayittey, General Manager (Sales and Marketing) of the Resort announced this at the launch of the event in Accra on Monday. He said the two-day 36-Hole Scratch event open to junior, amateur and professional golfers throughout the country, forms part of activities marking the 10th Anniversary celebrations of the Resort.
Mr Ayittey said the company with their corporate partners of British Airways and Taysec Construction Company Limited decided to go into the sponsorship to rekindle peoples' interest of the sport.
He said the company is working feverishly to ensure that the course is put in proper shape to host the event. More than 100 golfers are expected to take part in the Event which has very attractive prizes at stake.
