By Kofi Aduonum

The annual Greater Accra Mobitel Hockey Knockout competition whacks off at the National Hockey Pitch on Saturday, August 21.The first match of the day will see current league leaders Trustees of SSNIT engaging NDK Financiers.

The match is being described by hockey connoiseurs as a 'David and Goliath' affair as a result of the not-too-impressive performances of Financiers in recent weeks. Trustees on the other hand are in the best of shapes, and are expected to give their opponents a tough opposition in the opening encounter.

The poor fortunes of the league leaders notwithstanding, Financiers will be tough customers for the league leaders. Another match which promises to produce fireworks is that between Multistix and CEPS. Both combatants have in recent weeks been impressive in their engagements and this encounter is expected to churn out quality play.

In the third game of the day, Citizens will take on Reformers, while Marine Sticks engage Veterans in the fourth game of the day.Police will clash with defending champions Exchequers as Commercial Bank's Golden Sticks are on standby.

In the ladies category, defending champions, Extinguishers, will play Police at the semi-final stage of the competition, whereas CEPS Ladies pit their srength against Reformers at the same venue. At stake will be cash prizes, Buzz GSM chips and trophies from the sponsors, Mobitel Ghana Limited.
