Ghana defender Baba Rahman linked with Real Madrid move, Chelsea & Man United still keen

Spanish giants Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Ghana defender Baba Rahman who has already been linked with English top sides Manchester United and Chelsea, a top newspaper in Germany has reported.

The Bild newspaper, one of the biggest in Germany, have a story on Tuesday linking Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United to a German-based left-back.

Baba Rahman is a 20-year-old left back with Bundesliga outfit Augsburg, and the Ghanaian defender is now being linked with a group of Europe's top teams including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

At the start of the current season, many Bundesliga experts believed Augsburg to be among the prime candidates for relegation, however coach Markus Weinzierl has managed to defy the naysayers in incredible fashion.

Augsburg are currently sixth in the German top flight, and they are on course for qualification to next season's Europe League.

Before the season begun, Abdul Rahman Baba was Augsburg's final summer transfer, and he has arguably proven the club's best acquisition this season.

Baba has settled in effortlessly into his role on the left side of defence for Augsburg after his move from second-tier team Greuther Furth, and now he is supposedly a wanted man.

Bild end their piece claiming that “reports in Spain” say Baba is worth around €15-20 million.
