Ghanaian midfielder Uriah Asante believes his Tunisian Ligue 1 EGS Gafsa side can survive demotion following last Thursday's 1-1 draw at fourth-place CS Sfaxien.

The former Hearts of Oak player lasted the entire duration at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax in a balanced match.

EGS Gafsa are currently 12 th  on the 16-team table; just points above the danger zone with eight matches left.

But Asante is refusing to panic.
“Playing away was difficult but we did well and we earned a point. If we can carry on like this and win our home games, we will be safe,” the 23-year-old told GHANASoccernet.com

Asante has scored 4 goals in 12 league matches.
