Agona Swedru, Aug. 11 GNA - Agona Swedru Soccer Moderators beat Winneba Soccer Intellectuals 6-3 on penalties to become the Under 14 Colts gala champions of the Agona District.
The gala was organised by the Agona Juvenile Football Association to usher in the 2004 colts league season scheduled for August 29 and it attracted eleven Colts teams in the District.
Mr Emmanuel Arthur, Chairman of the Association in a show of appreciation for the excellent performance of Soccer Moderators presented them with two footballs.
Mr Arthur who is also the District Sports Organiser commended the participating teams for exhibiting good sportsmanship during the games and urged them to maintain the momentum.
He appealed to citizens of Agona and financial institutions to contribute either in kind or cash to help promote soccer in the District.
He appealed to the players to concentrate on their training schedules seriously to enable them gain promotion to the elite divisions.
