Ghana and Inter Allies midfielder Prosper Kassim says the team fell short of the ultimate in Senegal due to the lack of cutting edge but is confident the lessons picked will strengthen the team in New Zealand.

Coach Sellas Tetteh's side showed glimpses of their potential in Senegal but ultimately fell short of their second place finish two year ago by finishing third this time around.

Star player Prosper Kassim says the team went into the competition with the aim of winning but paid for their wastefulness.

“I think we could have done better but for our finishing,” Kassim told Citi FM

“In the game against Nigeria I think we played better than the Nigerians and even created more chances but for our finishing.

“But like always in football the most important thing is you finishing and we came short in that.”

Despites losing at the semifinal stage Ghana picked up themselves to win against Mali to ultimately finish third place.
