Moree (C/R) Aug. 6 GNA - Mr Harry Hayford, Member of Parliament (MP) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency on Wednesday presented a cheque of three million cedis from his MP's share of the District Assemblies Common Fund to Moree Astons Football Club at a ceremony at Moree.

The money forms part of his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund and is meant to motivate and encourage the team in their preparations.

Mr Hayford commended the management of the club for sustaining the club even with their limited resources and appealed to the playing body to take their training seriously to qualify for the elite division. Mr Stephen Cobbina, chairman of the club, who received the cheque thanked Mr Hayford for the gesture and appealed to the District Assembly and other citizens of the town to emulate the MP's example to donate generously for the upkeep of the club.

He said the club needs about 12 million cedis to participate in the Central Regional Second Division league scheduled for August 24.
