'Black Hawk' Osumanu Adama and Benin's Mathurin Sechegbe are set to shake the Kaneshie Sports Complex when they enter the ring for the West African welterweight title on Friday.

But in the days leading to the grudge battle, both camps have been drowned in some kind of quietude as they concentrate on the task at hand. Both Adama and Sechegbe have been motivated by the potential of wearing a career-crowning belt, its value notwithstanding.

Sechegbe is one foreign boxer who has earned respect in Ghanaian rings in recent times and his date with Adamu may only confirm his status as a credible fighter. And that is the challenge Adamu faces on Friday night.

On that bill, put together by Ambition and Nii Armah Promotions, Theophilus 'Jupiter' Quaye takes on Ali Alabi of Cape Coast in a bout for the national featherweight title, while Badu Akueteh and Isaac Quartey fight in a super lightweight eliminator.

Joshua Okine faces Nigeria's Sammy Clay in an international welterweight contest, while Jonathan Yartey and Ayittey Mettle fight in the featherweight division.
