Avram Grant Has Done Exceedingly Well - Nyantakyi

The Ghana Foootball Association (GFA) President, Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi, has commended Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, for what he said was a good performance at the AFCON 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars lost 8-9 on penalties to the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire in the final Sunday after a barren 120 minutes of football.

Speaking when the team arrived at the Kotoko International Airport Monday, Mr Nyantakyi said coach the team's performance exceeded the expectation of the FA.

Accordingly, he said, Grant's target of performing well at the tournament had been exceeded, stressing that the coach had 'done exceedingly well'.

Mr Nyantakyi also announced that midfielders Christian Atsu and Dede Ayew were named 'Player of the Tournament' and 'Tournament's Top Scorer' respectively.

He said striker Kwasi Appiah won an award for 'fairplay', while Atsu wonder goal against Guinea was adjudged the tournament's best.

For his part, the Captain of the team, Asamoah Gyan, thanked Ghanaians for their support during the tournament.

The Black Stars were received at the airport by Vice-President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and other top dignitaries.
