Accra, July 22, GNA - The Ghana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) has fixed Thursday July 29 for hosting of the final showdown of the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Championships.
The event that will take place at the Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium will have ten bouts involving twenty boxers. According to the GABA, Manyo Plange will engage Emmanuel Addo in the light flyweight division, Daniel Awuga face Frederick Lawson in the Flyweight division whilst Michael Barnor will sort things out with Patrick Okine in the Bantamweight division.
The Featherweight bout will involve Yakubu Alhassan and Samuel Kotey while Gideon Agbosu fights Ardey Olewe in the lightweight division.
Patrick Allotey, Bastie Samir, Ayi Bruce, Obodia Sai, Atto Ritketts, Baba Akura, Abraham Mensah, Ken Ocansey, Awesore Yekeni and Leonard Sarpong make up the rest of the boxers for the day. The association has called on all the boxers to report for medicals and weigh-ins at 6:30am the same day.
Meanwhile, the GABA is to organise a weeklong course for new amateur referees and judges.
The programme runs from July 26 to August 2.
