Ghanaian Players in Germany: Summary

Bundesliga Godfried Aduobe (30-years-old) - important midfielder for Rostock who have signed back Nigerian Victor Agali from Schalke 04. Ibrahim Tanko (27) - Freiburgs striker hasn't scored a single goal last season despite having played many times in attack and midfield. Isaac Boakye (22) - Arminia Bielefeld. Has joined for €250.000 (payed to Kotoko in April) and signed a two year contract. Sammy Kuffour (27) - Bayern Munich. Either Linke or Kuffour will leave the club before the beginning of the season. Bayern now have 5 central defenders (incl. new signing Lucio). COMMENT: Linke was told by club president that he could start looking for a club so there is a strong chance Kuffour is staying. Otto Addo (29) - Borussia Dortmund. 3 knee injuries two years, but Otto Addo has got a new contract based on his performances. He is still in rehabilitation "I am still hoping to stand on the pitch in this year" David Odonkor (20) is son of a german woman and a ghanaian man, born in Buende in Germany and is one of the fastest wingers in the Bundesliga, he will be one of Otto Addo's replacements for Dortmund. Hans Sarpei (2*) - Vfl Wolfsburg. The former Black Stars member with Gemran passport has a new contract 'til 2007. Played most of his games as right full back or defensive midfield. Lawrence Aidoo (22) - FC Nuernberg. Has not impressed at all since joining from Borussia Moenchengladbach. Will have to work hard in order to get a place in the first team. Has not started for the Black Stars despite being present at training camps. ...2. Bundesliga Edwin Bediako (23) Alemannia Aachen - Contract expires 2005, but club wants to get rid of him. He played 17 games last season in Aachens central defence and could not impress. He is expected to play for the Amateur side in the Oberliga (4th level/division) Charles Akonnor (29) Spvgg Unterhaching - Has 121 Bundesliga games and 48 international caps for Ghana. Has not impressed after moving from Wolfsburg. Is expected to take up the role as midfield boss this season Anthony Tieku (30) RW Oberhausen - Has signed a contract until 2006 with an option for one more year. Played the first 14 games in Oberhausen's central defence before getting injured in november (same knee injury as Otto Addo's). Has not played since then, however is expected to start Oberhausen's games this season.
