WASHINGTON -- D.C. United signed 19-year-old midfielder Nana Kwame Kuffour on Tuesday. Kuffour, originally from Agogo, Ghana, will take a place on United's developmental roster and will be available for selection in Wednesday's international friendly against Nottingham Forest.
"We are excited to finally be able to announce the completion of all requirements to officially add Nana to our roster," said Dave Kasper, United technical director. "He is an exciting young player with gifted ability, explosive pace and we look forward his future with our team."
Kuffour has been a member of the Ghanaian youth development program since 2002, making several appearances for Ghana's U-17 National Team.
"You should expect a lot of skill from Nana," said teammate Freddy Adu. "You guys are going to see stuff that you probably wouldn't see from any other player because he dazzles people with the ball." . . .
