Accra, July 2, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers last Thursday broke a 17-year old jinx when they defeated their city rival Ebusua Dwarfs by a lone goal at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The match, which, was played in commemoration of Ghana's 44th Republican Status, also witnessed an unrestrained celebration of the jinx-breaking victory by supporters of Vipers.

They poured unto the streets in their numbers while taxi drivers honk their horn with a deafening noise.

It was Vipers who indicated their determination to win the game as they dominated play from kick off with Joseph Adade, Abubakari Hamidu, Nathaniel Annan and Francis Yankey constantly harassing the defenders of Dwarfs and made several fruitless attempts at scoring.

Yankey fetched the lone goal on 31 minutes after collecting a pass from his colleague and outwitted two defenders before delivering a thunderbolt.
