Ghana's Black Stars depart for Uganda today for AFCON qualifying clash

The Black Stars will fly out to Uganda from Accra today for a crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kamapala on Saturday.

 
They are expected to arrive in Uganda at dawn on Friday to ensure that players are rested for the evening's training session.

Officials said they have concluded plans to airlift the contingent to Ghana immediately after Saturday's match at the Mandela Stadium in Kampala.

The Black Stars are top of Group E as they travel to Uganda on 15 November before hosting Togo four days later.

Ghana battle Uganda on Saturday afternoon in Kampala in a game that could well determine whether they will qualify for next year's Nations Cup with one match remaining in the group.

The team are expected back in the country immediately after the match so that they could begin preparations in earnest for their final qualifier against Togo on Wednesday, November 19, in Tamale.

Ghana know a win against Uganda in Kampala will see them qualify for the Nations Cup finals for a fourth successive time since hosting the tournament in 2008.

Konadu will take charge of the two games before  handing over to former Chelsea boss Avram Grant,  providing he can agree financial terms with the Ghana Football Association.
