Former Asante Kotoko and Black Starlets assistant coach Isaac Opeele Boateng has hailed the Ghana Football Association for settling on renowned football manager Avram Grant for the Black Stars coaching job.

The former Chelsea manager will be named Black Stars coach if he can reach a financial agreement with the FA.

The GFA did not put a timeline on when they intend to make a firm appointment but explains they will offer Grant a two-year contract with a mandate to win Ghana their fifth Africa Cup of Nations title.

Isaac Opeele Boateng believes settling on Avram Grant is the right decision.

“I will congratulate Kwasi Nyantakyi for taking that decision, that is making sure that they will go in for Avram Grant,” he told Joy sports

“I did tell Ghanaians that Avram Grant is a fantastic coach, he has the experience and can do the job, he can control the egos of the players, he has done that with Ballack and the rest.

“He was with Portsmouth when Juande Ramos asked KP Boateng to leave Tottenham, Avram Grant is the one who was with KP Boateng at Portsmouth, he is a fantastic coach, he has worked with Sulley Muntari and Anelka, he can control our boys and it is a big plus for Kwasi Nyantakyi and the GFA.” Story by Ghana/Joy Sports/Benedict Owusu
