Ghana Black Stars Richer By $14,000

Ghana's Black Stars received $14,000 as bonus for a job well done against South Africa's Bafana Bafana last weekend.

Ghana won 3-0 in a group two qualifier for 2006 World Cup/Africa Nations Cup. Guinness Ghana Limited, the sponsors of the team, gave the players $11,000 (Shs 20m) while the football association gave them $3,000 (Shs 5.4m).

Meanwhile, Ghana take on the Mambas of Mozambique in an international friendly match in Maputo today. It is the first of three matches they are expected to play in the Mozambique.

The Black Stars are preparing for a group two qualifier against the Uganda Cranes at Namboole on July 3. The camp in Mozambique offers Coach Barreto and his team climatic conditions similar to their expectations in the game in Kampala, according to Ghana's press.
