Ghana league champions Asante Kotoko have revealed their interest in re-signing their former defender Rashid Sumaila.
Sumaila, who made 23 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns last season, is currently not part of the South African setup due to his non registration for the league.
The general manager of the Porcupine Warriors Opoku Nti has confirmed their interest in the 21-year-old.
'We did approach Sundowns for his services for a one-year loan. Sundowns
have agreed on a transfer fee for a loan deal and we are still working on completing the deal. We want him back because we have been told that he will not be able to play for them this season,' Nti told KickOff.com
Asked how they will be able to register Sumaila since the Ghana FA has closed registration between club-toclub, the Kotoko official said they are
weighing other options.
'We are working on this matter because the league hasn't even started due to the ongoing court cases,' Nti added.
