Accra, June 22, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association, (GTTA) will on Thursday July 1 organize a nationwide Republic Day Open Championship for players as part of activities to mark the Republic Day's celebration.
City Phones will sponsor the one-day event, billed to take place at the Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to the GTTA, the overall winner will take home a cash prize of 500.000 cedis with the first runners-up receiving 300,000 whilst the third and fourth winners will take home 200,000 cedis each for their effort.
The Ghana AIDS Commission according to the association will donate T-Shirts with the AIDS awareness message to the event officials and participants.
