DOL To Start On July 24

The Division One League (DOL) is now scheduled to kick off on July 24 since some regions are yet to declare their champions.All competing clubs are therefore required to pay ¢100,000 as participation fee in this year's competition.

Each club is also required to pay ¢4 million as officiating fees before the start of the league. According to a statement signed by the DOL Board Chairman, Mr Douglas Djarbeng, failure to comply with this directive will result in the forfeiture of matches by the affected clubs until payment is made.

It also explained that outstanding officiating fees of ¢3.7 million will be paid by the clubs in the course of the league.In connection with the commencement of the league, the DOL Board has consequently asked Upper West, Northern, Ashanti, Volta and Greater Accra regions to declare their Division Two champions by July 5.

The statement named Bolga Upper Stars, Dormaa Aduana Stars, Anum/Boso Offie Youngsters, Tarkwa United and Abura Schalke 04 as the newly-promoted Division One teams. It also requested club officials to educate their supporters to comport themselves during matches.
