In its bid to take the domestic league a notch higher, the Ghana football Association (GfA) has rolled out innovations for the upcoming season.

Beginning the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Bank League season, the country's football governing body will introduce a mandatory pre-match press conferences, the Club Licensing System and the Domestic Competition Management System

(DCMS) among others, GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

The FA boss mentioned that these were to ensure that the league reached the heights that pertained in other parts of the world.

In an interview recently, he said, 'The GFA has already taken steps to introduce mandatory prematch news conferences. These conferences are aimed at giving the league the needed publicity.

'The introduction of Club Licensing System will also ensure that clubs will meet new requirements in the areas of infrastructure, administration, sporting and financing.

'Under the DCMS system too, all clubs will register their players online by attaching all the necessary documents and submitting them to the FA. It will store all bio data of all registered players and records of the league, which will make it easier for stakeholders to track important data and statistics of the league like minutes played, number of goals scored, yellow cards, red cards, etc,' said the GFA chief.

He praised the First Capital Plus Bank for their timely intervention to sponsor the league, describing their sponsorship as a business partnership intended to bring mutual benefits to the sponsor and sponsored.

The FA president appealed to all clubs to meet the Cub Licensing requirement.

A tentative date of September 21 has been fixed for the commencement of the league after Congress.

Returnees Great Olympics, BA United and Feyenoord will join the existing 13 clubs for this season's competition.
