Accra, June 4, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has called off its impending congress scheduled for Saturday, June 5, at the Teachers Hall in Accra.

The decision to postpone the congress is as a result of a motion for interim injunction filed by Mr Bright Akwetey, a former Board Secretary of the club.

A statement signed by Mr Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary of the Club, said following the injunction, the Council of Patrons on the advise of the Directors the Club have therefore decided the intended Congress should be called off.

The statement said the case is scheduled for Monday June 7, at the Accra High Court and appealed to the teeming fans of the Club to exercise maximum restraint for the law to take its course.

It would be recalled that the Club was scheduled to go for its Congress this Saturday to elect new directors to take over the affairs of the club but with the injunction it means a new date will be set after the outcome of the case on Monday, 7th June 2004.
