Cape Coast, June 2, GNA - Abura Odonase Schalke O4, (under 17) played a determined game to beat a Central Region schools combined football team 3-1 in a friendly soccer match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Monday.
The match forms part of a series of friendly football matches lined up by the combined team in their preparations towards the National Sports Festival to be held in Kumasi next week.
Schalke O4 from the blast of the whistle took absolute command of the game and scored three quick goals before half time.
Midfielder, Eric Baffoe, opened the scores in the 10th minute with inside left, Mustapha Halidu who played a yeoman's game netting twice in the 20th and 30th minutes.
The schools' combined team resumed the second half strongly in a face saving effort and following series of raids in their opponents' vital area, they succeeded in reducing the tally through inside right Benjamin Abaka in the 85th minute to bring the final score line to 3-1. 02 June 04
