Ghana international Awal Mohammed believes he can learn from the experience of new teammate John Paintsil.
Paintsil has been signed on by Maritzburg United for the upcoming season in the South African top-flight, a signing which has been hailed by Awal.
Having worked with Paintsil in the Black Stars squad during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, Awal is optimistic the signing could prove a shrewd business by Maritzburg.
"It is a very good decision for this club and for some of the young players. He (Paintsil) has a lot of experience and I am delighted he has joined me at club level," Awal said.
"I used to watch him during his playing days in England and for Ghana, so for a player like Paintsil to join Maritzburg, it is a sign if good things to come."
Paintsil signed on as a free agent after playing for Santos last season.
