Youth Club donate items to Tarkwa United FC.

Tarkwa (W/R), May 17, GNA - The Palace Youth Clubs (PYC) of Tarkwa and Aboso in the Wassa West District have presented food items and mineral water valued at three million cedis to Tarkwa United Football Club.

The items are meant to assist and motivate the team in its preparation towards the upcoming sub-middle league and the second division league. Receiving the items, Mr. Amaded Zaruku, Chairman of Tarkwa United thanked members of the PYC for their kind gesture and said that the gifts would go a long way to boost the morale of the players to achieve success and honour for the district.

He said players of the club are undergoing intensive training to enable them excel and used the occasion to call for support and encouragement from institutions and individuals.

Mr Zaruku said that the club has started a membership drive to ensure massive support in their football encounters and added that it is currently organising "justify your inclusion" to recruit new players to beef up the team.

The results of some of the Second Division League matches played at the weekend are; Nsuta Bayern Munich-2, Tarkwa Dwarfs-O, Tarkwa United-3, Bafana Bafana-1.

In the women's category, Wassa Himan Royal Queens drew four all with Lucky ladies while Afamasi Ladies lost 0-8 to Angel Ladies while Star Ladies beat Royal Queens 3-1.

Fixtures for the Super middle league slated for Tarkwa and Samreboi would take place on May 22 and 23. Juantex Wins Ho, May 17, GNA - Juapong Juantex on Saturday whipped Ho Great Barons 6-3 in a middle league semi-final match at the Ho Sports Stadium to set the pace for their final match on Monday against Aflao Royals who beat Keta Sandlanders 3-2 on penalties on Sunday.

The match between the Aflao and Keta lads, apart from a few thrilling moments lacked any competitiveness and imagination among the players and was nearly marred with hold-ups as a result of hard tackles and injuries.

The match, watched by a sparse crowd did not produce any goals during the regular time as well as the added time of 30 minutes of extra time. 17 May 04
