Accra, May 6, GNA - Accra Great Olympics were on Thursday held to a goalless drawn game by city rivals, Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals in friendly match played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match served as preparatory grounds for both teams towards their respective competitive assignments and saw Olympics taking the greater part of the game, as well as creating more scoring chances but failing to convert the chances that came their way.

Olympics on many occasions could have found the opener either through set pieces but they were poorly taken or saved by keeper Kotei Blankson in post for Liberty while the latter hardly created any clear cut opportunities.

However, it was Liberty who had a God sent chance to carry the day when in 57th minute, Felix Baffoe moved deep into the defence of Olympics and laid a neat pass for Yaw Agyeman Jnr but he could not utilised it.

Cheered on by the few vociferous supporters and with their numerical advantage after a Liberty player was shown the red card for a hard tackle on an opponent, Olympics could still not conjure the needed finishing power to carry the day.

In the latter parts of the second half, Olympics who earned several free-kicks were unfortunate as the team's free-kick expert, John Cudjoe failed to direct his shots properly to get the match winner for his side, as many of his kicks were either saved or went wayward thus sending the game to a barren drawn game at a poorly attended match.
