Ghanaian Coached Team Tops Nigerian League

Dolphin Football Club of Port-Harcourt, which has Ghanaian-born Phillip Boamah as Chief Coach, has increased their points haul in the Globacom Premier League, in Nigeria.

The Port-Harcourt side maintained their leadership of the Gobacom Premier League after the Nigeria Football Association gave tthem the maximum points from the match against Plateau United, in Jos.

Although the match was disrupted by fans of the Jos outfit, the referees report indicated that Dolphin scored a good goal by Bola Bello, in the 87th minute before home fans disrupted the match.

Dolphin now have 31 points, with an eight-point lead over second placed Iwuanyanwu Nationale, which has 28 points.

The Port-Harcourt side, which is having a fine-run this season would host Lobi Stars, placed 12th on the 18-team table in a mid-week match, at the Liberation Satdium, Port-Harcourt, this afternoon.

In a telephone interview from his Aba base (Eastern Nigeria) with Ghana Home Page, on Wednesday, Frimpong, who plays for Nigerian and African champions, Enyimba International Football Club of Aba said:

"I want him to do everything possible for Ghanaian football to improve. All hands must be on deck to ensure that he gets all the needed support. This is the time for Ghana to take her rightfull place in African and World football"".
