Under-fire Ashantigold chief Kudjoe Fianoo says he's ready to face any sanctions from the Ghana FA following the club's refusal to honour their MTN FA Cup quarter-final game against Kotoko.

The miners have been in the news for all the wrong reasons after they shockingly boycotted the game at the Accra sports stadium.

The Obuasi-based side felt they had been given a raw deal when they were ordered to play the game in the capital following a ban on the Baba Yara stadium.

That singular decision has sparked a wave of criticism against the club which claims to thrive on professionalism.

But Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo, who is under-pressure to quit, says he is ready for any punishment.

“Whatever the consequences or ban I will entreat them to do that I am ready to pay any fine that is handed out to us by the football association,” he said

“I am ready to even pay from my pocket if it get to that level.

“What I want them to know is that they have been placed there to work and not make mistakes.

“Mark it somewhere, it will happen with another club and everyone will know where I am coming from.”

There are many who believe the action of the former Premier League champions has brought BIG disgrace to their supporters and could lead to an instigation for Fianoo's dismissal.
