The countdown to the end of season is certainly on after Asante Kotoko saw their lead cut to eight points with eight matches to finish the First Capital Plus Premier League.

The weekend's match action begins on Saturday at the Essipon Stadium where impressive Hasaacas will continue with their top-four ambitions with the visit of Wa All Stars.

Six matches will come up on Sunday with the top-liner in Berekum and the Accra derby all on the list of games.

A few weeks ago, it was Kotoko's title to lose and it's still theirs to let go. But as they come up against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park, events of their last two matches - which all ended in defeats - will not be easily forgotten.

Three points would mean the champions, Kotoko maintain their eight-point gap at the summit but it will be an opportunity for Chelsea to further expose more cracks with Didi Dramani's side.

Before the start of the second round, they were not considered as contenders but Hearts of Oak are now looks a serious threat to Kotoko's chances of winning back-to-back titles.

The Phobians after their impressive win in midweek over AshantiGold will make the short trip in the capital to Dansoman where they face Liberty Professionals, who are two points above the drop zone and with a game in hand.

In Kpando, Heart of Lions will take on New Edubiase while AshantiGold welcome Aduana Stars to the Len Clay Stadium.

Inter Allies will mount another strong bid to beat the drop when they arrive in Bechem to face top-four hopefuls, Bechem United.

At the Baba Yara Stadium, King Faisal and bottom side Ebusua Dwafs will face off to complete the weekend's match-day-22 pairings.
