Jacob Apau eyes big win over Panthers

Medeama winger Jacob Apau has backed his teammate to dismantle Panthers FC in the reverse fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup match on Sunday.

The Ghanaian side are the sure candidates to scale to the next stage after recording an impressive 2-1 win in Equatorial Guinea last week.

The Mauve and Yellows are back in front of their home fans where they entertain the Malabo-based side in a crunch tie at their adopted Essipong stadium in Sekondi.

However, Apau, who will missed the tie due to injury, has backed his teammate to put the visitors to sleep.

“I don't see how they can come here and beat us. I know it's football and therefore anything can happen but we're going to beat them fair and square,” he told the club's official website.

“I just came to camp to see my colleagues and it's obvious they are very determined. You look at their faces and no one will tell you that they are hungry for success.

“We want to go all the way in this year's competition and we'll leave no stone unturned in our quest to make history.

“Like I said, we're going to be them by a higher scoreline. Mark my words.”
