Table Tennis Championship: 3 more countries coming

Accra, March 26, GNA - The impending 13th African Junior Table Tennis Championship, scheduled for the Sports hall of the Accra Sports Stadium has received another boost as a result of confirmation from three more African Countries to participate in the competition. Nigeria and Cote d' Ivoire who earlier on were not certain on their participation have now given the green light to the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) on their participation while Gabon is the newest addition to the tournament as they have also indicated their desire to participate.
Mr Emmanuel Oteng-Aboagye, General Secretary of the GTTA said the confirmation by the three countries has now increased the total number of countries to 19.
He said the GTTA is expecting some few more countries to announce their participation in the championship.
Mr Oteng - Aboagye said the association is expecting all the countries to arrive in Accra between Saturday and Sunday for the real action to start on Monday, March 29.
The tournament is expected to end on April 8.
Meanwhile, Solomon Akunor, the only foreign - based player invited for the tournament arrived in the country on Wednesday night for the competition.
The England - based player started training with his local colleagues on Thursday afternoon.
