Ghana has emerged Monday over Congo 1-0 in the first match of Group C of the African Nations Championship. If the satisfaction is set in Black Stars, we are already leant on the next game at the side of the Red Devils. Feedback collected on the official website of CAF.
Sebastien Migne , Congo coach: “I'm obviously disappointed. Disappointed for my boys. They demonstrated a mindset that we expected Claude Leroy and me. They have not missed much. We were not all the time concerned by the situations at the same time. There are still two games ahead. If we happen to win our next game we'll bounce back, all is not lost . I gave my guy at the end of the match the example of the last World Cup match between Switzerland and Spain. Switzerland won the first match. But in the end Spain was there without Switzerland. I will not bother to think of the next round but the next game. We will already try to observe Ethiopia tonight to better prepare for this match.'
Maxwell Konadu (Ghana Coach): “It was not a bad game. Both teams played well and we had a chance to win. We must thank the initiative of this competition which allows the world to see young talents from Africa. We could have played better but I think we deserved the victory. Our performance at the last edition in Sudan was not good (…) In view of the performance of the selection A during World Cup qualifiers; Ghanaians necessarily have big ambitions for us. But note that everyone is here to win. We therefore need to pull out all the stops in order to leapfrog our next two opponents namely Libya and Ethiopia.”
