
Tema, Feb. 29, GNA - Shuppie Mapuranga became the proud winner of this year's Ladies events of the Achimota and Tema golf clubs Presidents Putters competition, played at Achimota and Tema respectively at the weekend.
Shuppi returned 65net at Achimota on Saturday and scored 36 points on Sunday at Tema to lift the clubs events for the first time. Florence Etwi-Barimah came second with 35 points at Tema, while S. Majekodunmi placed third with 34 points.
Phil McCaulley won the Men's category with 42 points, S. Mustamin came second with 41 points while William Yeboah took the third position with 38 points, beating John Wattenberg on countback.
Betty Allotey came second in the Ladies event at Achimota with 70net, Keri Aamoat was third with 71net while Beatrice Hampton placed fourth with 71net losing on countback to Aamoat.
John Yanulis won the Men's event with 65net, while Aaron Akaful took the second position with 68net beating Ted Deignan, Misseu Menroe and K. Yeboah on countback.
The Achimota's event was ,sponsoreod by Dr Sydney Quartey, President of the club, while Mrs Young Oh Kim, President of Tema, sponsored the Tema game.
