Division two sub- middle league commences on Sunday

Cape Coast Feb.16, GNA - Eight teams will participate in the Central Region second division sub - super zonal middle league at the Cape Coast sports council park from Sunday February 22 to Sunday February 29. Teams competing in group one are, Kasoa Bago FC, Odupon Heroes, Agona Swedru All Blacks and Agona Swedru Young Rangers while group two has Abura Odonase Schalke 04 FC, Cape Coast Zakkour FC, Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks and Mankessim Borbor Mfantse.

Mr Thomas Doe, Chairman of the Regional Football Association (RFA) said at a meeting with representatives of the participating clubs that at the end of the tournament, the first and runners-up from each group would qualify for the super zonal middle league in March.

He said the super zonal middle league would commence on Sunday, March 14 and end on Sunday, March 21 to enable the RFA to declare the champion club of the Central Region division two league for the 2002/2003-league season.

Mr Doe appealed to officials and players and supporters of participating clubs to exhibit a high sense of sportsmanship to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

He also appealed to referees who would be appointed to handle matches to be fair in their decisions.

Mr Percy Aryee, vice chairman of the Cape Coast municipal referees association in his contribution, warned that club officials who attempt to influence referees during the tournament would be exposed.
