Asamoah Gyan is struggling with a suspected hamstring injury

Ghana team doctor Baba Adamu has hinted striker Asamoah Gyan could be withdrawn from the Black Stars squad for the deciding World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

The Black Stars captain is struggling with a suspected hamstring injury following his failure to complete the team's second training session on Tuesday morning in Accra.

Gyan was again made to rest for the afternoon session  as the team's medical team continue to closely monitor the Al Ain striker.

Dr. Baba has however hinted the  talismanic  hitman could miss the crucial game against Zambia on Friday if he fails to respond positively to treatment.

“It was during training that he felt heavy in his thighs and complained of some pains,” Dr. Baba said.

“So we will continue monitoring the situation when we come to Kumasi [on Wednesday].

“If the situation doesn't improve we will have to take a decision on him.”

Gyan's  possible withdrawal would serve a massive blow to the Black Stars who are hoping to have all of its players fully fit for the expected grueling encounter against Zambia on Friday.
